As I said, Archangel got the boot, I needed something else for this part of Base's past.

After the coup, Base is abducted by Rey and experimented on with energy from chaos emeralds, because Rey found old texts on the Floating Island talking about the echidnas bringing gods of chaos to life to serve them.

Finding Base, he figures,"Get 'em while they're young..."

After a year or two of experiments, Base succumbs to the finished product, becoming a host for a dormant chaos god.

The god can take control of Base if his body is exposed to too much energy(Deep Power Stones being an example)

Or in a state where Base's subconcious has completely blacked out on him.

Being a chaos god, it has Base's core memories, to identify friend from foe, but most of the time refuses to acknowledge the line and will attack anything. Rey is the only one who knows which god possessed Base.

During a captivated state Sally managed to question the being. In the end, she asked for its name.

"Tchu-Jo"

It is an echidna god afterall, so in mixing appearance with Base's body its bound to look like a cross between hedgehog and echidna.
