For those who may not understand the wanted poster at the end, here's my interpretation on the matter.Β
This whole time, she (the cat) was on the hunt for this pug's capture.
Like most wanted criminals, a hefty reward is given to whomever brings them in. Seeing how distraught she was in finding that her only food supply was ransacked, it's possible she was in dire need of the money so that she could feed herself.Β
However, she takes pity on her prisoner, realizing they must have been just as hungry as her. She gives them her last piece of food, then watches them run off with a hint of regret. With no food, and no prisoner, her situation then seemed hopeless.
But, the pug comes back, with food for the both of them. The cat realizes how beneficial this makes the pug, and so she decides to take their friendship over their reward.
