Description
I loved Manga and Anime when I was growing up and one of my favourite comics was Appleseed. I loved the interplay between Briareos and Deunan but was blown away by all the futuristic designs of the cyborgs and battle suits and tanks etc. The creativity there is just something else. Anyway, I squirrelled away some time one night to doodle this pic, though didn't upload it because I didn't feel I'd done the character justice. It's not so bad looking back at it. Ahh boi, I only discovered this manga 3 years ago and already own a hot toys fig of Bri. He’s amazing and so is Deunan, what a badass woman.
I remember noticing flat tvs in the manga, which is something I’ve never seen before in old futuristic books. I thought that was incredibly smart especially considering that’s what happened over time ahahah.

Hey, thanks for lovely comment. REALLY sorry that my reply is so late! Yeah I got into Manga when I was in my teens and Appleseed was one of the first that I picked up. Some of the ideas and designs in those old comics are amazing and like you say, certainly ahead of their time. I'm trying to rekindle my youth now by buying the big volumes of Akira and Ghost in the Shell etc!

he influenced me a lot in the 90's even if we don't have the same style.
The things he created were so well thought out that they seemed to really be built. But in general, mangakas have a great deal of attention to detail.
