i still have no idea what "fractal art" is though...

These are not traditionally drawn, these things are made by combining and mixing different fractal formulas together, then the software creates things called "iterations" based on this mixture. I really have no idea what these iterations actually are, because i am not a mathematician

what you see above is an approximation to the solution set of a system of equations
the "iterations" are steps to approximate the real solution.
For example you try to draw a circle.
at first you start with a triangle than a square, a pentagon, a hexagon and so on

the iteration here is to add an additional "edge".
