This was a quick doodle done while watching the Lion King last night. I am not a huge fan of the second movie, if a fan at all but I rather liked this idea. The three paw prints represent Kiara, Simba and the faded one in the background that of Mufasa. I really love this picture so i hope others do too
. I will upload a closeup of just Kiara and Simba later.

Awww this is so cute! Kiara reminds me of a kitten there. ^^
Nice little father and daughter moment, and it's just like when Simba was sitting with his father under the stars. ^^

I like this movie but I hate the 3d one (nothing beats the first one of course)
Simba and Kiara looks great here, but what caught my eye was the pawprints, they are all wrong! A cat has only fore toes (the fifth one don't leave a mark) and the claws arn't visible in a catprint. These looks like round bearprints O.o
Hope you don't mind me critiqing you, looooooooooove your other art, and your realistic pictures are beyond this world!

teeheee I don't mind. This is so old, I don't think I can look at it without cringing and seeing onnnly all the things wrong with it. I don't intend to revisit it or fix it at this stage, there's just no point! But I leave it up to show others and remind myself that you can grow as an artist if you have the desire and persistence to.

*nods* It could have been *sooo* much better. Like we need another Romeo + Juliet story. Not too mention the obvious incest of it all. Then again, they would just be cousins, wouldn't they?

I actually like the second movie. I can't see why everyone else hates it. I do think that it wasn't as good as the first movie but it's way better than other disney movies and their sequels. (And the second movie wasn't even made by the original creators of the lion king)

I've already seen the second Lion King movie.. Just a couple hours ago.. ;D
But the first one was the best, yesterday I was crying about 10 times while watching it!
And as about the picture, I think it looks pretty.. I love the idea of these three paw prints.
Plus the coloring looks tasty, makes the pic looking like a real scene cut out of the film..
ah and I like that color of the sky.

Wow..it looks exactly like Kiara & Simba x3 It's been ages since I've seen either TLK, but I agree, the second one sucked..LOL ^_^ The only thing good about it were Kiara & Kovu..and Simba.

The two characters are drawn very professionally and are drawn perfectly in the TLK style. Almost more than the characters, however, your backgrounds have always caught my eye. The way you draw the rocks with such attention to detail is amazing, as well as the grass, the trees, the /sunset/. The picture looks like an enhanced screenshot from one of the movies, n_n

Beautiful- absolutely beautiful. You can almost feel the family love within that picture.
And the idea was brilliant too! The 'three paws' MUST be one of those things no-one's done before.

SP was...a lot of frustrated potential, imho, due to the need for it to be a video babysitter first and a worthy sequel second, instead of the other way around. That's what bugs me most about it: even using the same characters, plot, and general idea it could have been so much better. *sigh*
But, back to the picture. Any plans to use this as a jumping off point for something more than just "a quick doodle" ? I know I'd be at least curious to see what could come of this with more time.

Gotcha. At first I thought this something that you had whipped out in, oh I don't know, 30 minutes or something.
Mrr, yes, the curse of the mouse. I remember having to work with those. Do you have one of the optical ones or are you stuck with the ball variety? From my experienec, the optical ones are a little bit easier to work with -- smoother motion, for the most part. The Wacom Graphire 2 I have ran me...$80 or $90, I think. I know the last time I saw one in the store it was $90. I hear there's a 3 on the way or already out, though, so the 2's might be cheaper now that they're no longer the cutting edge.
The funny thing about a tablet is that it at first takes you less time to color than if you're using just a mouse. Then you discover how much more detail you can do with the tablet and suddenly you're spending more time on an image because of it. Mixed blessings.

I have an optical mouse and yes I love it compared to my old mouse but still its frustrating, the mouse cant do what say a pencil or pen can and so i see the definate advantages of a tablet over a mouse. I hope to save up for one soon but it may take me sometime unless I am able to sell a comission or two. Thanks once again for the wonderful comment
