SEED2 speedpaint. 1.5hrsA further exploration of the last concept. Cleansing the soiled earth by reaching for the purity of light.
Quite a few people mentioned on my last entry that it reminded them of the spirit god from Princess Mononoke. Of course I absolutely adore that movie and am humbled that my work could even remotely be compared to that of Miyazaki. I can't say I thought of his work while I painted, but who knows where the sneaky subconscious mind comes into play.
Want to add here. This was done while listening to: Kokia: Oto with Reflection. I have always wanted to do a picture to this track as it drives my muse absolutely wild. The song itself has such an eerie feel in the way it is sung; the lyrics themselves being Japanese but sung backwards.

That is what I thought when I saw the first one, but it's still a unique line of pieces you've put out. Very beautiful, very spiritual feel to them.
Personally, if the two were being compared, I like yours better than the spirit from Mononoke. I never did care for that weird face. xP

Any character that likens to a deer and has human features will be likened to that god from Mononoke. Most of them are insults too- I wish people wouldn't do that without really comparing, there is a big difference between these two characters.
And aside from that, she said in her comment box that people had already said that- continuing to remind her shows ignorance on your part.

Oh my gosh! The second most beautiful creature ever. <3 I admit, it looks like the Forest spirit, but yours has a twist on it, and I don't consider them the same creature.

btw: People now these days tend to associate everything artist do as a small "copy" from series,movies,etc.
It becomes annoying. It's like no one can have a random idea without it get associated to something else ._O

Oh I think people mean it as a compliment and I take it as that ^_^. Frankly we all make associations and most anything 'new' created is either inspired by or can be compared to something else...and theres nothing wrong with that, as long as people don't say "you copied', because imo that makes people afraid to follow their creativity freely.
