Description Well this is an attempt at a style I have seen many deviant artists work towards. This is also my way of attempting to do what most people accomplish with a tablet...save with a mouse. I am in dire need of a tablet my friends!!

His expression is one of the learned majesty, yet he too keeps his secrets away from his students. The staff shimmers at the presence of thoughts and dreams, and as he turns to face you, there is regality in his eyes and the pull of wanting to follow his teachings, his pride of place in this realm, echoes around you, drawing you forward and into step with this advocate of divine and mysterious magicks.

I\'m sorry, that\'s what I immediately thought of the second I saw this piece

You make even the most untalented writers, such as myself, weave tapestries as if we were born to do so. You have a wonderful talent, promise me you will not stop these creations of yours.

Astounding, I love how you've artistically and beautifully blended feathers, a feline face, and human charactersitics you give a real sense of emotion (look at those blue eyes); very realistic, but also very imaginative and not without a sense of magic ...how did you color this?!

Well, I have a wacom graphire 2 (I think)... it's good, but I'm trying to persuade my parents to let me buy an Intuos(sp?)

Anyways, I've always liked this style as well although it does seem hard to achieve. Hmm, I think this one's going on my +fav list, simply because of the detail and how well you've managed to do this, especially with a mouse!

HA!! actually when I titled it thats what I thought at first too LOL. The glow is a seperate layer and just using blue and the paintbrush I brushed it on and then smeared it and made it rather thin and transparent...

Wow, that is awesome! I have been wondering how to do that! Got any tips?>

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

balaa In reply to Xiomega [2004-01-10 07:06:12 +0000 UTC]

each different color do in a seperate layer and just layer them up. Set the outlines above all the color layer and set the layer as Multiply. then blend and use your lighten/dodge/darken etc tools to finish the piece. Most of all have fun and explore! I will keep working on this technique..
