Great work on the waves , they look fantastic! If you`re doing a series of illustraitons from the orginal novel , are you doing the part when Candlewick and Pinocchio have turbans on their heads to cover their donkey ears? That was my favorite part.

They're not from the original novel, but for an edition for very, very young children (from 1 to 5 years, i suppose). They cut a lot of parts, and... you know, Candlewick was not even in the images I had to draw.
Anyway, Candlewick absolutly ROCKS. Pinocchio is not Pinocchio without Candlewick, so i put him in the illustration that shows when they're going to the "Land of Pleasure" (in italian is 'paese dei balocchi').

Candlewick does ROCK. As you said , I can not imagine reading Pinocchio without him in the plot or watching the films.
I would love to see that picture by the way.
