Is it weird I saw the leatherface in the original film as a sympathetic villian? I mean he doesn't really seem to enjoy killing people. He seems like a mentally disabled man child who does as he's told, fearing what his family will do to him. Maybe he occasionally let a few travelers escape. Sorry if I talk at length, I'm American after all. *Topical*

Actually in one of my books I plan on writing; this one being about two friends traveling across each state after two nuclear collapses starting in 56 and one in 98. When the visit Texas, they bump into and get kidnapped by my fan version of the Sawyer family. The character of Rodney consults leatherface and this is where leatherface reveals his severe depression. After a recreation of the dinner scene and a big fight scene. The house is burned down with the cook inside, the hitchhiker is mauled and carried away by a red bear; one of the many genetically modified fauna of the waste land. Leatherface dances in both joy and sadness. Because while he's glad he'll no longee be abused, he still finds bo pleasure in others suffering. Plus that was the only world he knew. With nowhere else to go, leatherface turns down the proposal of the two pals to join them on reclaiming the world. He goes off into the plains of the desolate dirt roads of Texas, with his fate left unknown. If you wanna hear more, just wrote me a note.
