The Hanged Man...or Gryphon in this incarnation I suppose! I picked a Chimney Swift for this one since they roost and perch only vertically - they don't perch like other birds!Related content

This is a lovely piece, and I have been loving this series so much!
My comment on this is that a raven would probably have been more appropriate- the Hanged Man's symbology is about making a sacrifice in order to gain knowledge or wisdom, off of the story of Odin hanging himself from the World Tree to gain wisdom about runic magics. Odin is associated with two ravens, Hugin and Muninn (thought and memory) who bring him information from the world and serve as his eyes.
Still, a very cool design and well-executed!

I love this pose. The symmetry is very pleasing to the eye, but I really like how you placed the gryphon a little to the left instead of flatly in the middle. Very nice job!
