Very true, my guess is that it once belonged to a lamp. It's still there by the way and looks much the same as when I took the picture.

You will be amazing about how many things are in the road, and are still there.

The pattern of that plug looks just like a real snake.

I usually don't get out onto the road proper so I don't see much besides flattened dried toads.

It really did! That's why I had to stop and photograph it.
