Holy crap their manes are beautiful! *_*
Alongside that, the poses are great (kiss on the ear is adorable x3), and their expression are cute as anything, so great work d (^_^) b
...Just for the record, I think this pairing gets a little too much hate: being immortal goddesses earns you a little lee-way when there isn't exactly an amazing selection of beings who can live as long as you can (read: likely forever).

Though, they are also immortal beings: it's not beyond the realm of doubt that, over the countless years they have lived, the dynamics of their relationship could change, especially since they didn't have an amazing selection of beings that would live as long as they did (though Alicorn Twilight throws something odd into the mix...)

Naw... Well maybe in a sense. Depends on what mind he was drawing it on. If he was drawing it as Nightmare being a totally separate being, then no. If he was drawing it as Luna still corrupted, then yes.

To me, logically, the princesses choices are kind of limited by certain factors. One they are extremely long live, if not immortal (in the never dying of old age or natural causes kind), and it is more then likely they have fallen in love in the past. Yet in a relationship situation it's not healthy to keep seeing your loved one die while you will.
Also their subjects don't see them as normal ponies, at least not most of them, and most ponies would probably see the princesses as 'out of their league'. Heck most most would see it as a great sign of pride or foolishness to think they had a chance. When looking at Luna the only normal pony that shows her any consideration at first is Twilight...
Yet before any Twilight/Luna fans come forward I would like to say I feel Twilight would be far more likely to get with Celestia if the princesses were her only choices, though taken farther Twilight would be more likely to go with one of her friends then either of the princesses and that is not counting the fact none of the Six show any romantic feelings for each other.
Big Macintosh has not ever even had a conversation with Princess Luna, and they only chance they would most likely meet is if the princesses came to visit the Six at their homes. Even then I get the feeling that the stallion wouldn't even consider Luna as he would a 'normal' mare, and both would probably be very 'professional' in their interaction.
Sad to say it, and I personally don't see them that way, but they would be more likely to get with each other... it makes a certain sense anyway as who else knows the princesses as well as they know each other. Who else would know the private pains and problems they experience in their day to day lives and what happened so many years ago?

I Have to Agreed... And I Think that the Princess Wouldnt have any relationship with other ponies at All. One Rule the Day, and not Only the Day, take care of the Entire Equestria in the Day, and in the Night, Jezz she must be Exausted. Same to Luna, most o the Dark things happens on Night, and Luna is there to Take Care of It. They only have time to Each Other, now with other ponies, they would be Absent wifes or Mothers, and they Know that, they are special, they couldnt have a "Normal" Life.
So Seeing then together makes more Sense, or they Could be like Asari... Have a Female Apearence, but has no Gender... LOOOL...

Yet when you think about it, they will outlive all their subjects so after a while of seeing loved ones die they would either give up on love or turn to each other.

I'm not supporting incest... but when considering who and what they are long lived possibly immortal (in the 'ever dying of old age' kind) ponies unlike there subjects in many ways.
Well who else would they turn to if they don't want a relationship where the one they dies of old age?

herbalEntymologist In reply to Fellmoon [2012-10-09 01:16:09 +0000 UTC]
So immortality essentially equates to the loss of morality. It's like the ends justify the means. For beings that are unshackled by the laws of life, you would think that relationships would no longer matter.
π: 0 β©: 1
Fellmoon In reply to herbalEntymologist [2012-10-09 01:33:27 +0000 UTC]
Well this is also a different culture arguablly, and it could be questioned that there was any 'loss of morality' involved. You post seems interesting... can you explain your feelings?
Myself, I don't think the princesses would be with any pony. That the most you could find involving their subjects is perhaps a courtly love, and simple sisterly love between them.
I am actually christian but when it comes to fictional characters and settings, especially fantasy settings, I can be 'fairly' open minded. What matters to me is how well written the story is and if it makes sense in the story.

herbalEntymologist In reply to Fellmoon [2012-10-09 04:52:25 +0000 UTC]
This is understandable. I mean, once you get down to the root of what we're even talking about it's still just animated multi-colored talking ponies the likes of which live in a monarchy governed by an immortal queen(?), a fact which is so absurd I cannot convey it properly. I have noticed however that in this (and oddly many other fan made paraphernalia) it is implied that such creatures are capable of same-sex pairing. It, for lack of a better word, confuses me that someone would even want to make this, let alone think about it.
Though my faith plays a large part in my opinion, it is more my love of nature and all things natural that prompts me to make my statement. By design everything fits into place like pieces to a clock. Take two pieces that do not fit together, eg. two screws or two bolts (may the reader have discretion when choosing the sex of each inanimate object) from a critical section of the mechanism and the clock would no longer function.
The same is true here. The creature depicting the night (This Luna being) and the creature depicting the day (The Celestia being) both have key roles to play in this world. They are like two bolts however, their pairing would be catastrophic to the clock of life.
Even despite the fact that they are both immortal that does not mean that they would outlive any mate they would take. I do not know enough about these ponies to make an accurate assessment, but I would have to say that if there are Alicorn females, and princesses nonetheless, there would also be Alicorn males, meaning princes as well. A stable (pun intended) relationship could be made and the clock could keep on ticking.
This picture is then in bad taste to my beliefs, a fact that many people tend to ignore despite the fact that I have explained them thoroughly. Regardless of their fictitious nature, it still sows the belief that pairings like this continue to make the world spin, when in fact it is merely slowing it down. Now I am not implying that this sort of behavior should be met with violence or disgust as many people do, but rather should be explained properly and adequately so as to educate the world.
Also seeing as how they ARE both sisters it counts as incest, another thing distasteful to my palate in that it promotes genetic mixing and is exceedingly debasing.
The very notion that such a relationship could work in the first place is flawed. This

I will admit... I actually see no reason to consider the characters of MLP:FiM as anything but straight and at most bi. Yet the fact is that there are homosexual relationships. That and as many fans as quick to point out the ratio of male and female ponies is unbalanced... though just because we see mostly female characters does not mean that the males are less just not 'in the picture'.
Yet your suggestion that there are male alicorns are unwarranted, as all that has ever been seen are female alicorns and until they show otherwise there is only two... now two and 'a half', the half being because I do not see Cadance as a full/pure blooded alicorn. The fact is Celestia and Luna are all three races of pony at once. To be honest I would actually be upset if they added more alicorns, Celestia and Luna being the only true alicorns adds a beloved mythological feel to it, makes them special.
I love reading myths and legends, the princesses having this feel to them especially with the opening at the season one pilot. While not goddesses, or not truly so they do represent that which they control, day and night/sun and moon. Their past is mysterious, we know so little about them, they have lived for over 2000 years, 1000 years of which Celestia was alone and her sister 'in' the moon.
-----------------
I am actually a big anime/manga fan, and as I said I look to the quality of the story. For the most part I do NOT like homosexuality in stories and it annoys me to no end when some fans insist characters are homosexual (like Rainbow Dash, sure you can have her paired with a mare in your fanfiction but do not INSIST she is lesbian -sighs-). Yet I have from time to time seen it work, I have seen some very emotional stories involving same sex pairings and even at times sibling pairings... though this is rarer. It matters how it is handled and if it makes sense in the story as it can be done right to have the proper emotional development and dependance needed for siblings to get together.

Very well. I cannot judge anyone as I am in no position to judge. I have explained my reasoning, one that takes into account others feelings, and I find it acceptable.
Thank you for your input. At least you did not call me a homophobe (a misnomer in itself) or berate me for my beliefs. I am grateful for that.

Laughs, because of my more... middle ground approach it seems I do not completely please those for homosexuality or those against. I have actually been accused of being homophobe interesting enough.
Fans of Rainbow Dash being lesbian especially don't care for my feelings on the subject because of my insistence she should not be called such.
I actually take a more middle ground on a few different things... like Twilight for example. I read the books and enjoyed them, despite the fact of it's flaws. Laughs, I actually find it amusing just how insistent some are say the words "vampires don't sparkle" and I answer "why is it a big deal, so what if they sparkle?"
