Jhonen Vasquez is the man who came up with Invader Zim. After Nick cancelled it, though, he pretty much said he'd stay away from animation. But he has a lot of comic books out. The one I hear about the most is Johnny The Homicidal Maniac [link]

Because Cartoon Network had [adult swim], which isn't kid friendly at all (different from Nick, which pressured Vasquez to make the show more "Kid-friendly").
