Description
Cuirass WIPPart of a leather armor full suit inspired by Artorias from Dark Souls. The reference material I had to work with was such that I had to come up with my own embellishment designs so its not an exact replica.
This is the breastplate front with collar.

This picture gives me a hint of something I was something I was always wondering about:
Do you form the leather first or to you embellish it first?
It would obviously be easier to embellish a flat piece of leather but a) how would re-wetting the design to form it influence it. And on the other hand, if you shaped it first, whatΒ to use as an underground when you have a curve to guarantee a good even imprint of your tool?

I've been following your work for awhile. Wish I had lived near you would have loved to answer your ad for an apprentice. i hate taking boring orders for boring items. i would love to do this kind of work. so many ideas in my head i want to try. keep up the inspiring artwork!

who would have thought that a traditional style of tooling could be used as fantasy armor! I love this. Fantastic designing. I am humbled. simply amazing use of acanthus and scrolling

Thank you, I really like taking the traditional concepts like victorian scrolls, western carving, elven stylings, and celtic knotwork and mix and matching to make something unique so I'm glad you like it. You might like to check out the elven knight suit in my gallery as well as it has many various designs on it but less acanthus style designs.

Some components on the armor when complete will be less detailed than what is seen here (since I am basing it off of reference material and that's what it calls for) but this sort of tooling, shaping, and design are all qualities of my imperial to signature works.

My God, I'd love to grab a full set of Artorias' armor, in real life and be so sad and lonely when I wear it anywhere. But people will be impressed and ask who made it, before they leave me alone to die under a bridge.
