خرج علي عليه السلام يسير بالناس, حتى اذا كان بكربلاء على ميلين او ميل تقدم بين يديهم حتى طاف بمكان يقال له المقدفان, فقال قتل فيها مائتا نبي ومائتا سبط, كلهم شهداء, ومناخ ركاب,ومصارع عشاق شهداء, لا يسبقهم من كان قبلهم, ولا يلحقهم من بعدهم.
