Description

He had barely gotten these words out when a large tidal wave of brown water crashed over the two bruised fighters, overflowing well out of the creek’s edge. Again, he was completely submerged, his body twisting uncontrollably under the force of the water.

Using his arms, feet, and tail he attempted to maneuver his body trying to avoid the obstacles of trees and logs as he helplessly was swept away with the current.

Having grown up in Greenwood Swamp, this was far from being the first time he rode the flooded currents of swamp water. As a boy, he actually found it to be quite the thrill and with his group of friends, welcomed them as a source of excitement, to the disdain of his parents who always warned of the danger they posed to ‘reckless children.’

But he was tired and injured, weakened from his battle against his nemesis, and on top of all that, he was a full grown man, now completely aware of the risks posed by flooded waters.

He knew there was no fighting a current this strong. All he could do was stay afloat and allow the flooded bog to take him for a ride, until washing him up somewhere at a designated location.
As he raised his head above the water, he took a long overdue gasp of air. Suddenly, he felt the two furry arms of Sid throw themselves around his neck as the rodent attempted to ride him through the swamp.

“What the!?”

Axl felt his face flare up in pain as Sid ran his claws against his face, driving him to cry in pain.

“GRAHHH!”

“DIE! DIE! DIE!” screamed the maniacal rodent.

The two again, became submerged underwater as Axl dove under in his attempts to escape Sid’s grasp. The battle continued with the two wrestling, clawing, punching, and even biting one another. With one hard kick Axl, eventually managed to knock Sid off him leaving both of the men, spinning in circles as they continued to be carried away.
