Let's Eat A ChocolateThe history of chocolate begins thousands of years ago, when cocoa tree cultivation was practiced in South America. Crowned as the "queen of sweets", chocolate has a long and fascinating history and it was considered a gift of the gods to mortals, having miraculous properties. For most of its history, chocolate has not shown as we know it today, but it was consumed as a drink.
Christopher Columbus (1502) was the first explorer to make contact with cocoa beans in the New World. When he brought to Europe, they did not enjoy too much attention, because no one knew what they were using.

Say no more!! This shop is the ORIGINAL legendary Leonidas chocolate house. Not just any of the franchises... the very first one.
There is where the best chocolate of all over the world is made. Of course, at a price... and I know it because I have been there. I bought it. And I have tasted it

I have been there 13 years ago and I have bought 1 kilo of variated bombons and pralines. It did cost therefore around 50 euros, more or less. I wonder how much will it be now...
Btw, if I recall well I think dollars, pounds and yens are accepted there. At least therefore

I visited the town of Brugge during the night and took a long walk around the town centre. There are A LOT of chocolate shops there. And it was real torture

It did look tasty. And we were feeling so cold outside. The town was sleeping and all the shops were closed. Weird but interesting time to be in Bruge. I wish I tasted those chocolates though
