Taking a break from the One Piece I guess...

My second Mega Man piece (first if you don't count the 8-bit one, which I don't), Dr. Wily appears in a very menacing stance. This particular design and pose is courtesy of the impressive spread by Rockman Megamix mangaka Ariga Hitoshi.

Technically Wily wasn't difficult. The wire armature made the tie and neat coat flourishes quite easy to do, and the hair and hand were the only parts that took remotely a long time. The hand, in fact, was about 1.5x bigger at first, but that looked too cartoonishly goofy. So look for a similar but slightly larger hand to pop up in a future piece- I don't want it to go to waste. The is the first piece since Meta-Ridley to utilize quite so much glaze (on all the black surfaces).

I chose to do the lighting as I did because that's how it appears in the spread that inspired this.
