Description A continuation from my previous Dragon Age fanart. This time the city elf Erik is in the salvaged gear he got from one of the last Warrior class Sentinels at the Temple of Mythal. Who Erik defeated in single combat and as he was dying surrendered to Erik his weapons, seeing him as being worthy of them.

I wanted to evoke an Elven Knight design so I included a helm.

As for his stance well I figured he'd hold his weapons like this. gameplay.tips/uploads/posts/20… with his shield always at the ready, like that white haired guy from SwordArtOnline.

Party Banter

Cassandra

Erik: "If there is one thing both Elven and Andrastians have in common it's our absentee deities."

Cole:
 "What?"

Erik: "Oh it's a though I just had. In our legends the Evlen Pantheon was banished to the beyond by Fen'Harel, and in your legends the Maker turned away from you for desecrating the Golden City."

Cole:"When you put it like that. It bring to mind the image that the both of our races are just two abandons children in the streets."

Erik: "And Kids can be cruel can't they?"

Cassandra: "Unfortunately they can."

Varric: "Ohh that's deep. I'll have to remember that one."

Cole: "But what of this Fen'Harel you mentioned. Was he not one of your gods? What do your legends say of him?

Erik:"Well it's said he now wanders the fade. No one knows way. Guilt? Solitude? Could be anything. Besides most of us tend to regard the same way any Andrateian would the Tevinter Magisters. With polite shunning at best and impolite outcrys of rage the worst. There a few cults out there who worship him in secret though. Guess some will worship just about anything if to feel part of something bigger.

Solas: "Many would rather define themselves by their Gods then by there actions. I wonder what that says about us?"

Erik: "A lot probably. Though that's a topic I'm too horrified to get into."

Cole

Cole: "Hatchet in my hand. His wrapped round her neck. If I don't do something he'll kill her. What if she's lying? No tears where in her eyes, you can't fake that, can you? Have to stop him, he's a monster."

Cole: "You where right he was. He only cared about making others hurt he used your people pain to make himself feel better. But he never did."

Erik: "I... thanks. I didn't know if I could do it, so I just did seemed right. I like to think I've been doing that ever since."

Iron Bull

Iron Bull: "Don't see many Elves trying the heavy approach, even those in the Qun mostly just stick to wearing light plate, or leather gear, when fighting. Why is that?"

Erik: "I think its our build, Humans come in all shapes an sizes so do Elves but we still tend to a bit slimmer then most other races. So we try to play to that by specialising in being scouts with bows or use knives or some shit."

Iron Bull: "You seem to pull it off pretty well."

Erik: "Of course, I'm the exception... Truth is I don't know, just felt right that's all. Besides I told I put up a helluva shield defence."

Iron Bull: "I'll say, perhaps you could teach Krem a thing or two when we get back to Skyhold, he could use a few pointers."

Solas

Erik: "I am so sick of how almost every Dalish I come across go on and on about how their the true Evlhen. Cause I know a few people who would politely disagree with that if they weren't shooed away every time they tired to talk to them, like some stray cat's."

Solas: "Yes It does get a little tiring hearing of the greatness of Elven History from those who in truth know barely a fraction of it yet speak of it as thought it where Doctrine. But it cannot be helped. To them their History is everything, and any discrepancies run the risk of jeopardising what little comfort they can take in the belief the are the last salvation of Elven kind."

Erik: "I know. But where're a part of that History too. I don't understand how trying to pretend  we City Elves don't exist helps anyone?"

Sole: "That is a good question. One I doubt you ever find a good answer too."

-----

Solas: "You've mastered your chose of Weapons quite well. A shame more Elves do not take up the craft."

Erik: "Well here's hoping I start a trend. The Dalish probably wouldn't take to it well what with them having to always be on the move, and I doubt city guards would feel very secure seeing their Elven Neighbours with plate and steel."

Solas: "And there in lies the Shame."

---

Erik: Sorry it's just that I'm used to worrying about real problems. Like whether or not the next town I visit will let me to sleep with a roof over my head, or if I will be able to afford food this week.
