Thanks so much! It's all Photoshop CS5 and an Intuos4 Tablet. It's really just practice and learning to use textures and effects digitally!

It's funny. I don't think the Batman fanclubs here draw as many pictures of Thomas and Martha Wayne. What is it about Mr. and Mrs. Potter that inspires so much art?

For me, I draw it because it's the story I grew up with (I've only seen a few Batman/Spiderman/Superman movies, and like two of the Lord of the Rings movies) so Harry Potter is the story that I fell in love with as a child and grew up alongside. I read the first book when it came out when I was seven, and followed the series since then, so I find that I get a lot of satisfaction out of being able to breathe life into these characters in particular. Especially the Marauders & Lily. I really feel for how tragic their story is because we get a lot of insight as to how lively and cheeky and clever and in love they were before they all died.
As far as the general Harry Potter

My point is that James and Lily have as much protagonism in the Harry Potter books as Thomas and Martha have in the Batman comics (or Uncle Ben in the Spider-Man comics, for that matter). They protect Harry, they die, and after that they are pretty much only shown in flashbacks and visions. So the fact that there's so much art of them confuses me.

this just popped up randomly for me, and i was like: OMG I LOVE THIS WHO DID IT. And then I saw it was you. and i was a little disappointed because i thought i found a new person who's art i could stalk, but in fact it was art that i already stalk and adore. i absolutely love your style.
