So I ended up getting 2nd in the county wide contest I entered this in. There were 4 categories for ages 18-30, paint, black and white, sculpture, and mixed media. I entered this in the Mixed media and what beat me was a combination of watercolor and foam 3D mountain picture. I guess when you are competing with about 1000 people this isnt really a bad placing, but it kind of burned that the winner's picture wasnt really impressive, it was litteraly just single colored mountain shapes glued on top of each other with different foam thickness.

Too bad my scanner sucks and doesn't do the real picture justice... The colors are much more vibrant as are the shadows and tones... Looks MUCH better in real life...

Well anyways... I LOVE how this turned out. Probably the roses or tapestries are my favorite. I tell you what, trying to get a design in so many folds to lay right IS NOT fun lol.

All of it is done with Prisma markers, except the gold embroidery on the guys coat and on the tapestries, as well as the buttons and her broach. Those are done with a metallic marker, (brand I don't know, label has been rubbed off for a while ) with Prisma overlays for shading and tones. I thought the metallic effect would be a nice touch, since I am entering this in a county art contest. I used a little black Prisma pencil for deeper shading in some areas, and white for the moonlight glow around things and a little lightening of some small areas. Stars are white paint.

This is my 2nd... Yes that is correct, 2nd attempt at using Prisma markers or Copic markers. I figured if I really wanna get my time in with practicing, to go big or not at all.

PLEASE tell me what you think!! I would love some REAL input on this, not just the little 2 word comments.
