In addition to being a totally kick-ass fractal, she also shared the parameters.
And, speaking of kick-ass, this parameter set did kick mine. It took me 11 tries to finally get something that I felt was worth posting. So I do have to apologize for not getting this up sooner. I had crap-all until a few hours ago when I finally got this one
Kudos to whomever can work with the Amazing Box formula LOL. I found it near impossible to find views which were not 'standard' [Which makes me that much more appreciative of and impressed with Glenda's mad skillz and the really unique birthday fractal she made me!]. I had to give it a few days rest because I was getting really frustrated.
Finally, there was this weird hang when doing the DOF calculation. Not sure what is up with that as the settings I used in the first few attempts were not that detailed and the main render didn't take all that long. At one point, before I backed off on the detailed render settings, the dof calculation took about 5 hours. I thought my computer had frozen up! That's one reason this one is a bit bloaty, I really wanted to get this up tonight and sacrificed those details for the sake of a fast DOF render
I will probably queue this up at some point and let it chug through a high resolution version tho. In any event, thank you so much Glenda for my wonderful birthday fractal. I wanted to make one for you to let you know how much I appreciated that!

Sorry that the params were so frustrating, but I just love what you've created for me. The atmosphere of this piece and the texture of the shape are especially appealing. Oh, that blue-green color is so special too! I've never mastered or tried to use a light source from behind an image, so maybe I can use your new params for that.

Don't apologize for the difficulty of the params! Your skill in getting cool stuff to happen is really showcased in this example LOL.
And, this would be a most excellent starter for you if you want to explore volumetric lighting - that fractal forms a large empty space inside so it's really easy to put the light in there.
