Description
Decided to color Celie with the new haircut.This one I did in Colors!3D on the 3DS. It also has a 3D effect going on that you ca't see here.
I had a lot of fun with this one, I made the smoke sort of wrap around her in 3D.
Colors!3D is pretty great, I recommend it if you haven't tried it already.

If you have a 3DS and the colors3d app, I recommend checking it out there, the smaller screen makes the image look a lot sharper.

It was interesting watching it drawn. The head you did perfect first try with clean lineart, then the body turned to sketch haha you must have her face memorized. Tends to happen with some of my characters after drawing them so much haha!

Then traced it and added to it. I was fooling around for the first part, since I sign it way early. Then I started using color on Celie's head and I couldn't stop.

Exactly! Something like that. It's when you start drawing and then suddenly you want to do nothing but finish what you started. It rarely happens for me, but I enjoy it whenever I get the passing fancy.

This is a very nice piece of work and for something created on the 3DS it certainly shows how you can apply your style of vivid character designs to a handheld. The concept is a nice one and the humour of the title surrounding the concept is a nice touch, certainly from this you have found your approach in style and to make characters have a real sense of animation in the facial and body language. You seem to really know how to bring across the 'characteristics' not only in aspects such as the appearance, but also in the minor details such as how the hands are presented and the look in the eyes and mouth as well which influence the concept much more.
YOu've grown a great deal since last time and with the style that you've perfected here. Keep it up since you really have some strength in your drawing abilities.
