Description Clearing the ruins of Cape Town of the Cabal forces in late 2058 was a bloody and brutal, close quarters nightmare. With US forces, stretched thin and occupied by numerous brush wars and peacekeeping operations, the Brazilian marines and commandoes were bearing the brunt of the fighting, enjoing, however, the clear skies due to US provided aerospace superiority and support. On several occasions, the Brasilians were supported by an unknown, rogue operators unit of unconfirmed alliegance and composition. One member of that unit, probably the leader, was positively indenified by Brasilian Army Information Centre as Lt Colonel Anemy Rothart, a former CO of NSA Division 10, who was considered MIA since the official end of the Great Corporate War in 2056. Standing orders from joint US - Brazilian Command read "Stand Clear. Maintain Contact. Do Not Engage".

Cool weapon and character.

Why recoilless? That gun looks like it has a lot of recoil and no sign of recoil mitigation (for recoilless there should be significant vane in the back, muzzle brake will reduce recoil, but only little)

Thanks for the opinion!
That's 25mm electrothermal scifi cannon Should have a punch of 40 - 50 mm round, so it's definitely NOT recoiless
The title is more about the woman operating it.
As for the recoil, the idea is that the whole barrel -lock stystem recoils freely within the weapon's butt, extinguishing a portion of the recoil, as in Barret systems. Don't know how effective would that be, I'm no engineer It would probably turn the shooter's shoulder into a bloody mess of shattered bones and meat, if not fired from a braced position, but the woman in the picture is a cyborg, she'll live

Few friendly remarks:
Allowing barrel and bolt to travel long distance inside the gun in general makes force of recoil acting on shooter smaller, but last longer in time. With such powerful round it would still act as literal cannon. To control that recoil she would need either mass, so recoil force would not push her to far, or to rest gun on something in a way that would keep it from moving back.

So it could work kind of
She weighs some 250 lbs, she's trained for it, she's got graphene bones, artificial muscles and plot armor For her, it maybe like firing a Barret unbraced by someone more average

If she can survive recoil, she can use it
Maybe sometimes will need to stand up and walk back to firing position

You just made me picture Danny Glover firing big ass gun, falling back on the ground, standing up with difficulty and saying with his grumpy voice "I'm too old for this shit"
