This is absolutely amazing . Everything here is arranged so well, the surrealism nicely applied to envoke a feeling of anger mixed with anguish and illness... or at least that's how I interpret it . I am guessing "one of the best and definitely the worst of my life", as depicted in the image, has a lot to do with the stresses and afflictions in life, especially during that last month before you submitted this. The colors, flowing lines and 'ribbons', and markings on the arm and hand does invoke that feeling of anguish, and the flow of the colors added onto the skewed perspective of the arm create a great dramatic effect. The snake is a nice touch as well .

I do have only one gripe, but it's probably one that was beyond your control. The image isn't very clear, and the breaks for color are blurred as a result; for this reason, I feel I can't appreciate the painting in its full glory. However, viewing the image in its thumbnail size alleviates that problem some.

Wonderful work! I look forward to seeing more.

Thanks a lot! It brings me much joy that you appreciate it so much. I believe you were able to grasp exactly what I intended to portray even apart from my actual experiences that month. Each recognizable symbol means something very specific to me but can also stand for a much broader theme (i.e. cross vs snake). As in life, most everything means something and is connected. Our lives branch out to others as they branch out to us; hence the ribbons.

..and yes, that was like my fourth scan and I'm still not happy with it... I understand what you mean.

I hope to have more watercolors posted soon. I've really been enjoying this medium as of late! Thanks!!!
