The first time I saw a fart lighting scene was in the movie "Dumb and Dumber" and I tried doing it myself, resulting only in a little blue flame; later on, I saw someone lighting the gas from a cow in an advertisement of an upcoming episode of "Always Greener".
This Family Guy scene (in a review of a media player) was seen in an Australian computing magazine, which prompted me to make cartoon characters light their gas after eating several cans of Heinz baked beans.
