Description Kind of, sort of, maybe-ish requested by ... >_>
She and I were chatting, and I said I wanted to make another stamp and for some reason I said that I should write "Twilight is a time of day, NOT a good book!" kind of as a joke and she was all "YES! That would be great!" So I did.

If you don't know, I've never actually READ Twilight, but I've heard bad things about it. Some good things, but those good things were mostly "Edward is HOT!" and those opinions came mostly from people who aren't well read... A few of my well read friends have read it, and liked it, but aren't obsessing over it. But most of them either knew to stay away, or didn't like it at all...
That's another reason, ALMOST EVERYONE who has read it is all "OMG Twilight! I want vampire babies!" and I'm tired of hearing it. So I want it to end.
Plus, the term 'twilight' means the time of day where the sun is below the horizon but light reaches into the sky above the horizon. Twilight happens twice a day, one at dawn and the other at dusk... Every time I say the word 'twilight' around people who have read it, and liked it, they start to go all "OMG! Edward!" The word 'twilight' DOES NOT belong to Stephenie Meyer.

And if you ARE a fan of Twilight, DON'T comment saying I can't have an actual opinion on it until I read it myself and that I suck and I should die a firey death.
1) I know I don't have an actual opinion on it, but I believe my friends when they say "It was bad." especially since they write as well. (We writers look at the style of writing along with the plot and development) And I also don't really like romance to begin with. Even in my REAL LIFE I'm not too big on romance. Dating doesn't sound all that interesting.
2) If you say that I suck and deserve to die a firey death, that means you deserve the same. It's a BOOK. If you think someone should die a firey death for not liking, or in my case: wanting to read, a book you have some serious issues.

Reminds me of this, everytime I mentioned about Twillight, they talked about the pony ( I don't hate her ).

"The coldest hour is the one comes before just before the dawn"-Johnny Cash. Twilight is the darkest, scariest, and most hopeful time of day, or at least to me it is.

It means the time of day and half night. It can also be a name of a book or the unicorn when used in fiction.

I remember also, when you would type in Twilight at google... and it would have Twilight freaking princess come up D: Not that rubbish

It took me so long just to read the first five pages, it did not interest me in the least. In my opinion, it looked like a really long fanfiction-a bad one. I've seen good ones here, but then there are the others... *shudders* Twilight is one of those.

But when I hear the word twilight, I actually think of a black cat with bright blue eyes... Don't know why...

athariansauthor In reply to tobi12231 [2010-01-06 13:37:42 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I ended up reading the first twenty pages, and it was just SO bad. I know twenty pages isn't really enough to judge a set of books that big, but usually, there's a hint of plot in the first twenty pages. Plus, I have standards for when I read.

There are a few things I think of when I hear the word "twilight" such as one of my stories, the time of day, and the Faerie Realm. :/ But a black cat with bright blue eyes actually makes sense to me, I don't know why either, but its fitting for some reason.

I'm usually interested in books that are not in first person, like The Lord of the Rings. I simply cannot see what is in it that so many people like, save for eye candy. It's the only book I see any girls in my school actually reading without being told to read.

It does seem rather fitting, doesn't it? Lots of things make me think of animals. I suppose those images are well with the original thought that made me think of them in the first place. ^^

I've heard the same stuff about it. =3

Yeah, it's like... you can't say "I love twilight" without someone saying "Oh, I do too. Edward is a hottie!!" xD When, in reality you were talking about the time of day. Yeeep...

athariansauthor In reply to ShilohStrange [2009-07-21 05:08:05 +0000 UTC]

It's bad. Don't read it. I made the mistake of giving it a chance, I stopped after twenty pages and died so much on the inside.

I've always been instinctively careful with my words, I think them through before I say them. So I'd say something more along the lines of "Twilight is a beautiful time of day." or "Twilight is a beautiful sight."
But then, the fact that I have to be careful not to use the word "twilight" in a manner that it could be mistaken for the books is kind of sad, since it means most people's definition of the word is centered around the books.

Don't worry. I have too many things I want to read to try something that my (literately advanced) friends have told me is BAD. xP And getting shoved in the opposite-gender bathroom for saying I didn't think Edward was all that... o-o' Sorta gave me a feeling the obsession was mostly fangirl, not literature. Dx

Anyways... Yeah, I understand that. xD

I'll admit that I'm not literately advanced, but I DO have certain standards for what I read.

I totally understand that.

I read it, but I didn't waste the money or time getting it from a store or the library. I got sent .pdf files by someone. LOL.
I can see how the characters could actually have some decent development, but it was AWFUL. And the last one...GOOD GOD. It absolutely drove me nuts. The only halfway decent character was Jacob, until the last book.

I started reading it a while ago, and I just couldn't handle how Mary-Sue filled it was. But to each their own.

I read it because I didn't want to get yelled at with cries of, "omg u should just read it!"
Strangely, after you've read it you get yelled at with cries of, "omg u have to read it again so u understand it!"
Really? That's the solution for disliking inferior literature? "Read it again"?
I'd rather read Fahrenheit 451, which I am now.

I'll probably never read it because nearly everyone I know obsesses over it.

I totaly agree with your "opinion" or "not opinion" or whatever, I'm not obsessed with it, and I have read it, I thought it was a pretty good book but like any others, it had its flaws . . . but then every single girl in the school read it and everyone is now like "OMG TWILGHT!!!!EDWARD!!!"all the time . . so now, I hate it and specially since they made a movie, so now all the stupid girls who of course cant read even love it quite annoying

Yay, stamp. O:
Yeah, there's a few other things I think of when I hear Twilight instead of the book. Yes, the time of day, then there's also 'Twilight Princess' (how could that not come to my head?) and of course too, Twilight is also the time when one can best see the fae. O: Funny too, other name that Faerie is called is the Twilight Realm.

This stamp is already my most liked piece... Everyone seems to be adding it to a collection or something... And yet my work that's been up here for a YEAR only has ten views...

The first thing that comes to MY mind is my story Twilight of the Dawn.

I'll probably ask you for a few hints when I get Twilight Princess... >_> I get lost easily in games...

Lulz. I feel special that out of all the gamers in the school everyone comes to me for advice for Zelda games. xD Shouldn't be something to be overly proud of but... it still makes me happy.

athariansauthor In reply to WinndyCakes [2008-11-15 22:04:36 +0000 UTC]

Well, you ARE really good at them.
And the reason I would ask you is partly because I don't have contact with other people who have Twilight Princess, except Beverly, but she's not as much of a Zelda-ey person as you... >_>

WinndyCakes In reply to athariansauthor [2008-11-15 22:09:20 +0000 UTC]

I've been playing them for a long time. xP They're rather interesting, not just from a story standpoint, but artistically and mechanically too.
Har har.

As I said in the description, romance isn't my thing. I'm nineteen and I don't even want to date yet. I may never want to date. So why would I want to read a dating story about some chick and her vampire boyfriend?
