It's a loooong story that spans several hundred years.

When Nuummite was picked up by Galaxy, he was found on an abandoned planet. Pretty much stranded there. He wasn't "Homeworld" aligned so Captain Fordite offered to give him a lift somewhere and he ended up joining the crew since he was useful. Hiro was already a member (one of the 3 "founders" in a sense) of Team Galaxy, so Nuum had to put up with him from the start. BOTH of their jobs focused around the same things so they were obligated to interact a lot. Though Hiro was annoying, he was also one of the only gems who would actually talk to Nuummite. So they had a lot of time to get to know each other because of their jobs and because the fact Hiro wants to be everyone's friend.

Hiro also really enjoys the fact he can be a butt to Nuummite and get away with it.

Nuum's a big grump, and he has a tendency to be really damn aggressive, but he's really a softy at heart, honest! He was very lonely when Team Galaxy found him and Hiro was the only one who even tried being his friend. Even if he was being a pest, Nuum secretly always enjoyed Hiro's company.

I love when you make these huge coments telling the whole story behind some single fact. It just makes me happy! xD
I liked Nuummite,he is like the dark side of my personality. In fact I'm just between an overjoyed Hiro and a grumpy pants Nuummite hahahahahaha
I'd like befriend both,but I guess Nuummite doesn't like to talk to strangers...

I'm very passionate about my ocs and their stories, I suppose lol. These two are my absolute favorites, but I could go on and on about my other gems as well! And some of my other characters but most of my ferals and things don't have as much history and depth as humanoids do. haha

But no! Nuummite does not like strangers. Hiro does most of the talking in that case because Nuum generally doesnt go out without Hiro tagging along with. Nuum's lazy and prefers to sit around most of the time. He spends his time either sleeping or doing work and doesnt get out much. Doesn't see a point to.
WELL
Recently they've arrived to the beach and he's been hanging out with his old friend Benitoite a little bit. Hiro is jealous because Beni does NOT like Hiro at all so Hiro can't hang out too. But Hiro is happy to see Nuum being "social". (Only because he knew Beni from like many many thousand years ago)

Nuum wouldn't walk up to and chat with anyone else really. If they approached HIM he might talk back but otherwise would glare at them maybe until they left. lol
