personality and history: The sassiest biatch you'll ever meet, Rajesh acts more like a stereotypical rich white girl than the perfect little Indian boy his parents wanted. He was born in India, and two years after is birth his father secured a high-paying job in Island City, New York and moved the immediate family there. Rajesh's older brother adapted well enough to American life, but Raj really took a shine to it. When he was three, he began to take an acute interest in girls' toys, which concerned his parents; all of their neighbors' little boys played with cars and trucks and batman toys. Nevertheless, they let Rajesh play with the dolls, figuring it was just a phase and that stifling his childlike curiosity would be bad for him. He grew up playing with barbies and taught himself how to braid his younger sisters' hair when he was seven, often taking care of them for his parents so they wouldn't have to, as his older brother started hanging around with the wrong crowd and doing drugs, meaning his parents had to constantly keep him under supervision. He was later shot in a drug deal gone bad. An autopsy showed he had crack, weed and herion in his system at the time, plus a few other drugs.
The family arranged the funerals and sent Raj to Island City Catholic School in the seventh grade. A few weeks later he came out of the closet and admitted he was gay, and his father raged while his mother simply leaned against the kitchen table fanning herself.

In a few weeks, however, Rajesh's parents realized that their son was just the way he was and things started to heal. It was a slow process, and they nearly couldn't take it when Rajesh brough Eric Raines home to meet his parents -- but they just faked smiles  and tried to right their flipped-over worldview.

After Raj's sophomore year, his father cemented another business deal back in India and the family moved back to the Punjab region where Rajesh was born. Breaking up with Eric was the hardest thing about the move, but Eric understood. Rajesh drew a rainbow on Eric's hand before he boarded the plane, and Eric cried.
Raj finished high school in India and moved back to America when he was twenty to start college. He minored in computer sciences and majored in design. He became the showperson for display apartments, giving the tours and even designing some of the rooms.
When he was twenty one, the memories from Islamd City and the pain of missing Eric became too much, and for three months straight he'd go to gay bars every night of the week, get drunk and have sex with anyone there. After that three months had passed, he realized that this wasn't helping him at all, and he quit. He met back up with Eric by accident in late November, after being proactive and asking around for the Raines brothers. Since Sean had had a recent incident with his uncle that had gotten on the news, everyone knew and pointed him in the right direction.

Rajesh, Sean, Eric, Mike and anything relating to the I Used To Be a Rich Kid storyline belongs to me and me alone. If  you want to use characters/storylines/settings from my books, please credit me properly, or if at all possible, ask me first. I don't bite! Thanks guys!

ciao!
