Description Another possible cover for the novel that I wrote and am now editing (it never ends...)

I like this a lot more then the previous Frank Millar-ish effort. It's more evocative, for one, and more professional seeming. So my question to you all, dear viewers, is this: does this catch your interest, and based on this alone, would you be interested in reading it?

---
Edit--fixed the skull, changed some color settings.
------
See if you can guess the skull. It's a carcharodontosaur, but which one?

[late repsonse], but I hope this helps.

Yes, it does look good and would catch my attention and probably would buy it.

Dont know if this is good or not, but it reminds me of the Tremors poster.

The skulls too lightly colored and the cover is too close to that of the Tremors movie.

If I saw this cover, I would definitely pick it up to read the back at least.

Very eye-catching, especially to a dino-lover.

Acrocanthosaurus? Looks like it to me. Very Tremors.

Yep. And dammit, I wasn't thinking of tremors...
But, you know, if something seems Iconic, why not?

It looks exactly like the cover for Tremors...

That, I think, was an accident. I certainly didn't have it in mind. Though, to be honest, there are worse movies to steal from.

It definitely catches the eye and instantly raises my curiosity in what the book may be about. At the very least I would pick it up and investigate it. I quite like it actually.

I don't know anything about your book, but my mind went straight to Tremors, that could work for you I suppose.

I think that may have been an accidental inspiration. But it's a fairly apt one--besides, the tremors poster is loosely based on Jaws.

Good insight, though.

Looks awesome, Asher! Fits the mood of the book perfectly. Maybe you should draw the skull yourself?

That's a possibility. I could do that...

I like it, but completely agree that the skull image needs to be of better quality. Other than the skull I think it looks really good.

Dilong-paradoxus [2009-06-09 14:18:03 +0000 UTC]

That does look good. I think you should use a slightly better quality picture for the Dinosaur, but other than that it looks fine.

I think it's an Acrocanthosaurus. It's the only Carcharodontosaur that looks quite like that.

Ashere In reply to Dilong-paradoxus [2009-06-09 14:26:28 +0000 UTC]

Nice. Got it in one. No Acrocanthosaurus actually appears in the story, but there are carcharodontosaurs in the tale. I wanted a bad quality look, to make it look a tad more expressionistic.

Awesome! It may have helped that I looked up every Carcharodontosaur on wikipedia and the shape of their skull (if it had the picture)...

Ah, I see. If you have good reason than that's okay.
