Thoughts about the Character:

I thought Aranea would be a strong and unique woman who takes pride into being a "one in a million" person. She likes to learn everything she puts her hands own so she can adjust and adapt her knowledge to come up with an authentic way of doing stuff. Aranea likes to experiment and play around with her engeneering skills so much so that she came up with her own weapon: A two-handed Gunblade which she named the Cannon-Blade.
I believe Aranea always put her skills to good use by working as a mercenay and being highly picky about her employers, after all, given her inteligence, Aranea is not always recruited as a lowly soldier but also as a tactician or even hired by engineers to help apply her knowledge of the subject in whatever they are trying to build, this reputation is one that took long years for Aranea to achieve and she is at a point in her life that she feels accomplished and proud of the path she had walked so far, she may be a bit difficult to open up but she is nowdays more apt to try and get to know others better.
