Description Acrylics on Illustration Board

Painting I did for a woman I work with of her cat that recently passed away. She wanted a painting done to hang over the ashes on the fireplace.

Thanks so much! The eyes were very difficult to make out in the reference photo I was given. Luckily, I was able to get another photo from them that had a lot more clarity and expression in the eyes.

Thanks so much! White fur is a lot more time consuming than dark fur with acrylic paints I blocked all the shadow areas in over a medium base color and went back and forth with washes to darker areas or brighten them up where needed.

lovely picture love the eyes always my favourite part , ears purrfect hope she apreciates it.....did it pass away because you wouldnt let it move until it was finished lol,(sorry had to giggle sounds like she cremated the cat too ,are the ashes in the fireplace ) sorry bad sense of humour

Thanks so much! Her and her husband both love it. The cat had several health problems including being blind. They gave me an older photo that showed the eyes from before she went blind to work from in addition to the main reference.
