You know I never noticed the reference at the back until today.
I feel like such an idiot! XD
On a second note what do you like/ not like in a book?

I'm afraid I don't get your question... do you mean the 'content of the book' or 'the book physique' itself...? Also, what kind of book...? Manga? Novel? Encyclopedia? Or what...?

Touma-Yoshino In reply to AsakuraShinji [2015-02-14 20:31:42 +0000 UTC]
Oh sorry! Stupid me~
Yes I mean the content of the book, and by books I generally mean any book which has a plot line or story.

Oh, I see. If it's any book with story then the first thing I usually is of course, the illustrations. Especially with novels, I usually have less motivation to read a novel that don't have illustrations. In case of manga, I compare the quality of the drawings.
After I see the illustrations, next one I will see is : The Main Character. When I read a story, I like to immerse myself in the MC's perspective, so if I don't like the main character I usually don't read it, even if the story or illust is really good. Conversely, I will read the story if I really like the MC, even if it doesn't have any illustrations. One example is the web novel titled "Konjiki no Word Master". It doesn't have any illust because it's a web novel, but the main character is the closest to my ideal MC preferences, and the story is quite unique too, so I got really hooked on it. :>
The third one is of course, the story itself. but when the first two is already appealing to me, then I usually don't really care about this part, haha....

Well thank you for the pointers. I've taken those in mind and I already have two character designs.
By the way if you were getting a Touhou game, which one should you get?
I heard that they all have different difficulties and while I don't like something too easy, I don't like something way to hard for me to get started.

Umm, I think I find the 12th Touhou game, the Undefined Fantastic Object, to be a bit easier than the others. Though I'm not really sure why...
Or, maybe if you like fighting games, try Touhou 13.5 : Hopeless Masquerade. IMO it's pretty enjoyable, especially if you're stressed with the original touhou game, haha~

Hmm, it might just be because of personal reasons. By this I mean because
The reason I asked this was because I obviously haven't played one of the games yet.
The reason I wanted to try Touhou is because of its danmaku format.
Also to possibly use in a conversation, because you know it might just pop up.
I normally go for games with swords (because SWORDS!!!!), as you know I LOVE swords.
I also find it easy with sword games as I almost immediately understand them, I've never really done a games like this before.
But because I'm am hoping to become a games designer I intend to learn more about games (especially because I haven't had much of a run with them).
I used to play games a lot. I used to play Pokémon, until I reached high school. Then I started playing Wii games like Wii sports, etc.
Then started doing fish games as at a point in time I wanted to become a marine biologist, because it seemed cool.
However I got over that and then started doing racing games (which I suck majorly at, got bored of that quickly and then started playing Pokémon again for a small bit.
Then once I reached year 9 I only played puzzle games, including chess and the like. Then I came off that to read books, oh I read lots of books by the way.
That probably affected my eye-sight at some point, but I don't know I have glasses anyway. After that I did Karate and still played puzzle games.
Then in college I discovered Zelda (well I knew of it beforehand but never played it), specifically Skyward Sword. Then I played Sword Art online Hollow Fragment (still play it now) and Skyrim.
That is the story of my gaming life so far (sorry).

The level of detail in the background and the realistic lighting are astounding! If not for the anime girl, you might actually mistake it for a photo! Keep up the great work! I'll be watching you from now on.

Yeah~ *rubs back of head sheepishly.
Expect it to be done in 2-3 days!
I'm finished the character, the background shouldn't take too long.
Maybe I'll get it done by tomorrow.

What a crazy background, I'm training on background too but I never imagine I can draw something like this _| ̄|O
Btw I think it look more awesome without the soft lighting and blurry layer.

This is absolutely wonderful! I could stare at this for a while~
Seriously though, you must have some godly patience to work something like this. I mean, between a beautiful character, wonderful city architecture and friggin car...wow..
This is definitely an inspiration for me!
