Hoho, some of you actually made some very valid guesses for last page
But only some people actually guessed who the wolf is
Many of you suggested the shiny wolf might be Amaterasu, well, you were really close. Still, there is a reason why C.Y. calls the wolf Shiranui and not Amaterasu.
See, Shiranui and Amaterasu are actually the same wolf, only, Amaterasu is Shiranui's reincarnation 100 years after the battle between Shiranui and Orochi, during which Shiranui lost his life.
The name "Amaterasu" is never mentioned in Chakra, thus chronologically placing the story in the 100-year gap between Shiranui's death and Amaterasu's rebirth, precisely, only some time before the latter, as the introduction to Chakra says that the battle fought between Shiranui and Orochi is "ancient".
I hope you understand what I mean XD

XD No worries, you're not the first to ask
Ammy was called "mother" to us all in Okami, and represents a female Japanese deity, so she is indeed assumed female in the games, and logically, so would Shiranui however its gender is never confirmed in the first game.
However, in Okamiden, Ammy is clearly referred to as a she, while Shiranui is referred to as a he.
Since that was the only official mention of Shiranui's gender in the franchise, I chose to go with that

Actually, in the original Okami, it isn't specified what gender Shiranui is. It is sure that Ammy is a girl though, because everyone calls her Mother.
In Okamiden, however, Shiranui is referred to as male, and since it's the only confirmation of his gender so far, I thought I'd use that XD

I've always thought of Shiranui as a girl, though... Because Amaterasu's been confirmed as a girl, and if you remember that Shiranui is Amaterasu's previous reincarnation, it'd make sense of she was female as well. I can understand your reasoning for referencing Okamiden, though that's just what I think.
