THIS PAGE...
This page is a five out of five for my taste! a.deviantart.net/avatars/c/l/c… " alt=" " title="clappingplz" />
Definitely one of the best so far. I have enjoyed greately the surprise you gave me when Africa pounced on her mother. It's not taht I wish to see them mangle each other, but I have to admit that you took me entirely by surprise with it!
I had imagined Africa would leave, despite herself, in order to not harm Giza...But what do you know? I WAS WRONG! She would tollerate most anything BUT being called a Gazelle!...Ironically, her gazelle friends are okay for her, but now, being called ONE OF THEM is a whole different matter!...And that, Africa could not stand. Not even from her mother.
The first frame convinced me that there was even a chance that Giza might strike her with deadly consequences, her shoulders tense, her eyes glowing, all her body stiff and ready to jump. A real threat, as far as we see! For the worse Africa looks completely downtrodden and is not in guard.
Then,in the second pannel, we don't see just a trheat in Giza, but from up close her face shows also a slight hint of tiredness and dissapointment. Which is terrible for Africa if you put it in context of the situation. She looks disgusted by her child's behavior.
Then the third anf fourth pannel are magic. How Africa's face passes from pain and shame to sheer anger as she takes the offense...you managed to represent her feelings very accurately without having her uttering a word. That was brilliant!
The last frame kinda worries me for Giza's safety. She may be the most experienced huntress there is, but Africa is MUCH younger...and the pounce she made looks like a killing blow to me...
Sigh...
How could this end well?
To go more tecnical, the disposition of the frames works right and the color palette is keeping this "cold, unsettling, sickening" atmosphere which makes us wonder why do we feel so worried for these cats and what would become of them...
I really enjoyed much the reading -And staring!- of this new page!
Keep the good art coming! You are on the right path! e.deviantart.net/emoticons/n/n… " width="15" height="15" alt="" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="334" title="Nod"/>
Thumbs up!
If Africa was ever published, I would recommend it right away to any animal lover, comic lover, or anyone who wanted to see good examples of animal anatomy in motion!

It did...and now I read the other page and...sigh.I'm sad for Giza. Honestly, she asked for it, but it seems she'll not make it...and I'll mourn her, even if she deserved what happened.
YES...Africa could not whitstand it...
I always love the bodily and facial expression you give your animals...YOU'RE A GREAT DRAWING ARTIST!
It would make a "must have" collection comic!...I hope you'll get to print it one day!

As usual, you've done a marvelous job on yet another page of your comic!
I love that you draw it traditionally and then do all the other necessary details digitally.
I was not expecting Africa to attack her mother; when I read what her mother had to say, however, it's easy to realize what drove her to act in such a way.
It's not often in comics that you see a character shift from being loving to wretched without any pretending involved, or any obvious motivation to do so. I also love the line "I've been raising a gazelle this whole time.": Genius!
The only issue I have is quite small, and hardly impact any positive feels I have for this page.
My first issue is the proximity of the mother in the 3rd and 4th panels. In the first panel, she appears to be at least a couple of yards away, and by the last panel, you can see she is still on that log, and Africa is far enough away to get a good leap on her mother; however, she looks like she's walked up to face her daughter up-close by having her muzzle in the shots. If Africa would have been portrayed farther in the background as Giza was in the first panel, then having her muzzle in the shot wouldn't have distorted the distance soo much.
Other than that, this is just another wonderful page! I look forward to reading on! e.deviantart.net/emoticons/d/d… " width="21" height="15" alt="" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="574" title="I am a dummy!"/>

because an asshole parent works as perfect triggers even for the most disciplined child. omg she sounds just like Sabor! Africa didn't work her ass off only to have all that effort brushed off by her gung-ho mom.
lol does "gazelle" work as an a insult in their world or something? XD

Well, since gazelles are prey, a leopard being called a gazelle would imply the leopard is comparable to prey, in cowardice and what not.
Similar to how humans are insulted by being called "chicken", "mouse", "pig", "cow", "shrimp" and such. These are all animals that we eat or simply kill because we see them as nuisances. To be called either of them would imply the same as a leopard being called a gazelle.
We simply do not like being called the name of a different species that we also see as prey, nuisance or otherwise inferior.
We only liked being called the name of a species that is refarded with respect, strength, power and superiority, like wolf, tiger, dragon, lion and other such animals. (I know dragons technically aren't real, not the fantasy kind anyway, though it is possible they CAN exist some time in the future, thtough evolution or through genetic mutations of various animals DNA, which I am VERY interested in, even if it is just a small wyvern without firebreath but maybe gas breath)

Do you draw in the comic letters in the background or do you add them in digitally?
