2020...it was pretty bad. We all know that.

It started off strong, sure there were a couple bumps, but those turned out to be nothing to worry about. Then in March...well, everything fell apart. When I left school the Friday before spring break, I had no idea that I wouldn't come back. I didn't know that it would be the last time I would see my friends, my peers and my teachers in the classrooms, in the cafeteria, in the courtyard...I kept hoping that we would be allowed back in April, or May. Then we were told that we weren't gonna come back at all that school year. And, like every other high school senior, I was absolutely crushed. Our graduation ceremony was...humble. Nothing compared to what the Class of 2019 and every class before them got.

But you know something...now that I'm out of school, I'm not mad about what happened anymore. I can't change it, nobody can. And there's no point in fussing over what can't be fixed. I do hope that the Class of 2021 and all the underclassmen are doing OK. I know that this is affecting you all way harder, grades-wise and stress-wise. And I really, really hope that things get better so that you all can have a proper end to the school year. You don't deserve to struggle so bad...no one does.

Now, this year wasn't all bad. DeviantArt helped me stay busy and improve my craft. Animal Crossing: New Horizons came out, giving me a lot of happiness and something to occupy my time. I got my tablet and began doing digital art (and there is just no going back--I LOVE digital so much). The story I'm writing is now more than two-thirds of the way done, and if I stay on track, it could be self-published in 2021. I met so many awesome people here, people who encourage others, people who help others, and people who are loyal and caring and want the best for everyone. Sure, DA has made some...questionable decisions (*coughcough* Paypal/Core), but the community is just amazing. Being here helped keep my mental health in check. And speaking of which, somehow my mental health has been the best it's ever been, in spite of the bad things. And I am infinitely grateful for it, and for all of you.

For some reason I have a good feeling about 2021...and I want to hope that things will get better for everybody. And that was sort of the message for this artwork, which is my last one for 2020. To look forward and see the beauty, the wonderful things that will come in 2021.
