Description The seven fundamental elements of the universe. Aether, air, earth, void, water, fire, and the consciousness which they all are made of. The order of the elements still needs some revision.

near to a divine work. i just think that aether and earth could be more diferent. i, in a first view, thought that was in up a light symbol, and down a dark symbol. But when i read that text, i understand your work, and agree your version of the consciousness symbol.
Really amazing word. i also could be a BEATIFUL JEWEL.

Thanks, and I agree. This is still a work in progress. I want to embody a whole elemental culture's religions in this symbol, or something close to it. I've been working on a graphic novel based on this and the Venus picture.

First of all I really like the idea and implementation of this piece. As far as order goes... have you thought about a color wheel kind of concept? Like elements on the opposite sides contrast and elements right next to eachother complement. I still feel like I'm being vague so I'll give a quick example: fire might end up between Aether and earth, but would have water on the opposite side. Am I making sense?

Thanks I really appreciate the feedback. I've played with the concept for a while. Originally, I Wanted to make them complimentary, but I also wanted the designs to have a numerical progression corresponding to the number of lines used to make each symbol so I made aesthetic compromises. For instance, earth is Traditionally the square and related to the number four "four corners / hemispheres of the earth". Water is traditionally the circle, and both the void and consciousness are not considered classical elements. The other factor is the gender of each symbol. Earth and water and void are traditionally female and thus need curved lines, where as opposite is true for the others. I have arranged the groups so that the masculine elements form a arrow pointing up while the feminine ones create one pointing down. Lastly, I wanted to position each element in the order in which they manifest void being 1 and earth being the 7. It gets complicated to say the least. There are a lot of "holes" in the concept, but I'm working on it. Thanks for your ideas Any suggestions are welcome.

First of all, great artwork and great idea. I like the repetition of the circle (and all of the symbolism that could be gained from it). It seems to me that this could be similar to a color wheel. And it could be used similarly as well. For instance, you know how the colors on opposite sides of the color wheel contrast one another? And how the closest colors compliment eachother? You're already sort of doing that with void on one side and Aether on the other. And with water and fire, air and earth you could just switch water and earth to make them all correspond to that framework. Just an idea.

Thanks, I'm glad you like it. Aether is the fifth classical element. It is the base element from which the others are created in some mythologies. That's the way I'm choosing to use it. In other mythological context, it is the "Pure Air" that the Gods of Olympus breath. It was also theorize to be the medium through which light travels by some earlier physicist who called it the luminiferous Aether. The modern standard model of quantum physics states that at the most fundamental levels of the universe, "virtual particles" fluctuate into an out of existence giving rise to what we call matter. That's how I tend to think about it. However, it can also be related to Prana, or Qi/Chi. Sorry for the long explanation, but it means different things in different context.

This needs more views! I love the symbols on it. What's Aether?
