Description Rozita Che Wan.
An illustration for a movie poster, but was rejected because its a 3/4 view, and because she's smiling. But the client was happy with the quality though.

Really nice piece man! Only thing i'm not quite fond of is the chromatic aberration, I just feel it doesn't fit with human portraits, but hey, that's just my opinion!
Here's an example of what i'm talking about [link] he's using it really subtle too. It looks hand painted too? might not be the worst case.

Other than that, love the brush work, proportions looks good too! Keep it up man

Thanks!
Ah,was the chromatic thing too much?
I did not notice that since I'm using my other laptop with bad monitor.
I'll reupload it with the one with less abberations.

By my opinion, yes, I think it should be a little more subtle.

I have reuploaded it.
Subtle enough?

I do this not because of that 3d red blue effect, but because of how the image looks slightly unfocused while still maintaining the original sharpness.I'm not sure how to do that using other tools, haha!I apologize for that. :3

Yeah man, it looks good now Did you brighten that white too? Looks more fresh now.
And you can do that aberration thing in PS by shifting the red channel to the left or any direction you'd like. Here's one example [link] Then you can add another instance of the painting beneath and erase out what you don't want from the aberration layer. But hand painting those things can be just as nice, and even look better, I believe that's a good thing.

also, keeping it subtle is the key, not like in that example

>Duplicate another layer
>Erase what you don't want
I don't know how I forget that.That was easy!
i r dumm dumm.

well yeah, I just think it's pretty crazy to be on /ic/ looking at it and then switch to dA and see it as well... considering how quickly art goes by the front page.

What program did you use?

Oh,the front page on dA is really fast.Refresh, and it's hidden in the 300th page.

I use Photoshop CS5.It's really good, and I'm quite happy with it.

cool. I use painter xii. I find their blender brushes really quick...I feel like I can work faster on Painter. I go into Photoshop to do like...all that digital stuff like transform, warp and liquify. maybe we can compare portrait techniques.

Yeah, looking through your gallery,I love the slight texture the brushstrokes has.It blends more naturally.I would love to emulate that in CS5,but I'm not really good at customizing brushes.

Tried Painter about three years ago.It was confusing, and because my laptop's spec is not that good,it was not a pleasant experience.I might give it another shot though.
