Part of my redraw project! Go HERE for more info!So a while ago I did this thing where I would pick a set of characters and then four or five songs that reminded me of each character, and then see what kind of a portrait thing I could come up with while that particular character's songs played.

So I did that with the Animorphs not too terribly long ago and the other day I was looking through the folder and I was like, "Hey, this was fun! I wanna do it again!"
So I did!

Poor Jake. He carried an awful lot of weight on his young shoulders. :C

Me too. I mean, I didn't hate him or anything, I just always liked other characters better.

I wonder if the fact that Jake had very few mental and emotional problems compared to the rest of the kids made him a more stable leader.
I didn't learn until years l8r (as in the past year or so) that Jake and Rachel we're Jewish. Not that it means anything....

Since Jake was the leader and Joe average, leading the animorphs like an AA meeting "Hello, my name is Jake; and I'm an animorph." Everybody else: "Hi, Jake."

Anywho, Jake couldn't show it for two reasons. His position required him to maintain his already stoic demeanor, to keep morale up. Also, Jake had to make room for other people's problems since some of them were legitimately more serious than his own. But his were serious, too, and he started to crack from putting himself on the backburner too long.

When I first read the series I didn't like Jake all that much, but now that I understand him a little better I sympathize with him a lot more and I like his character a lot better than I used to.
