comments-I like the mane and tail for once! How exciting, haha.
It seems that each time after I come back from a hiatus that I'm
infinitely better than before. Strange, huh? Well, it floats my boat(:

I really love this, you really have improved over your hiatus, which is silly! I knocked your vision down a star because I can't really "see the big picture" or story here, but you sure did make a great image in itself! This idea isn't exactly original, but it's still pretty different from your average horse-in-the-woods. (and the only way to get all stars in this category for me is to have a unique compelling story within the image) Technique! Yours is spot on, girl. The lighting is enchanting, though I think the front of the horse can stand to be darker. The mane and tail - oh my, these are just beautiful. The shadow is a little lacking, but hey! It got the job done, and still looks nice in the image. I would have also liked to see some desaturation of the horse to better fit the background, and maybe a bit of a colour filter or curves to jaz it up, but those are just me c; Impact I kept at 4.5 stars because the story in the image isn't that strong for me. But all in all, you made yourself an awesome piece, and you should be proud. I know I am <3

I don't smudge the horse or anything. I keep it as is
but paint shadows and highlights as needed. (:

I know what you mean. I did my first horse manipulation where I painted over the usual color and I see what you mean now. Thank you though!
