Hi there Art-Calavera! I've been collecting images of women wearing sensible armor, and your image caught my eye. Not here, though, but rather here: [link] (specifically here: [link] )
Now, recently I've been putting together a booru ([link] ) so other folks can see all the images I have collected, since I can't possibly the only one who appreciates armor that, if not efficient, is at least sensible.
So there's two prongs to this comment: One, I think the image you created is awesome, and I would very much like to show it off on the booru. It's already up, so you can see how things look, [link] but in my opinion, you are the artist, and have a right to ask me to take it down, or whatever else - it's your art, not mine. So I'd like your approval for it to be on the Sensibly Armored Women booru.
Secondly, while I was cruising around the folder I linked up at the top... I found another, very similar image: [link] (Gotta love the filenames, huh?)
I have issues with it in a variety of ways, both as an IP creator and as a viewer, of course, but as an IP creator, I figured you'd really want to know. (I assume it was an unauthorized modification - I could very well be wrong, of course.)
I wasn't able to hunt down where the altered image originated. If you don't mind it getting a bit of publicity, I'd like to make note of it on a comment on your image on the booru (woo, say that fast...) since it's existence brings up some interesting issues that I'd like people thinking about. But it's an alteration of your art, so I'll leave it up to you.

Woah, that's some... wall text right there.
On your first point, sure! Go ahead. Just remember to credit me as the artist, and add a link to my gallery.
Now, on the other issue. What am I going to do about it? That stuff happens, it's the internet.
Sometimes I track some of my artwork, but only to check if someone is earning dirty money with it. The rest is... internet.
But hey! Thanks for caring that much for my property!
On a different matter, what do consider "sensible armor"?

Sorry about the wall-text, Cal. You are currently credited with the tag Art-Calavera_(artist) and with... well, the source cites you URL, but for the life of me I can't get it to be a link. Apparently the javascript for the page is dead-set on it being plaintext.
I have no idea what you are going to do about it, but... knowing is half the battle? Just thought you should know.
Sensible armor... well, that's a tricky one.
First off, it has to be armor - apparel worn for protective value against abnormally large amounts of risk. I differ a bit from Women Fighters in Reasonable Armor in that they go for folks wearing practical attire, whereas I am strictly going for armor.
Secondly, it has to seem sensible enough that I wouldn't feel stupid-silly wearing it. No cleavage windows to get stabbed through, no inexplicably missing sections of armor, etc. Don't have to be heavy, but has to be logical. Here's an thingie my friend drew: [link] ...That would probably be fine if it weren't for obvious fleshy unarmored places.
Now, obviously everything has some degree of unrealism. But for the level of unrealism displayed, it has to have internal coherence, has to be sensible. ...and armor is there to protect - it can be sexy or cool, but not at the expense of not protecting.

You call that medium armour? Correct me if I'm wrong but: It looks like an articulated, fluted plate (Heavy). Looks like it would weigh about 40 to 50 lbs.

It's a scaled armor. Maybe I went too far with the size of the scales.
But yes, it's a medium armor compared to the heavy armor design I did on the same character

While this looks awesome and all, how is that "medium" and not "heavy" armor?

A very interesting approach. Is that a combination of scale and piece meal armor? It looks really dangerous. Almost chitin like.

Nice. That explains why it looks so organic. You definitely conveyed that very well. It does have a lot of the gothic looking sharp points. Something I have always considered to be every drowish.

gayness? I always thought of drow as being perverse in some sense, liking to mix a bit too much violence with their pleasure, but not necessarily gay. Though some of the characters in the books do come off pretty effeminate.

They're all leathery and noble (the 18th century way), and there's always some sexual tension between males.
Gay I say!
although there's nothing wrong with being gay. Just the fact that is gay being gay.

Never looked at it that way. Though if you think about it, the way the females treat them and with cultural habits like the Spider's Kiss( a black widow thing) is it really any wonder that they are more interested in each other? They are also pretty emo when you think about it. But unlike the little twits from Orange County drow males actually have a reason to be.
