this is definitely a great portrait of her (in fact i think you should do peter faulk next!). i really enjoy your tonal range - you've dispersed the lights and darks evenly throughout the image so your eyes aren't only drawn to one section. the details in her hair are really nice too. there's a healthy amount of lights and darks, fine details and soft, smooth areas. plus, you can really see the volume and form.
the only thing i would suggest is to work on the shading in the face and hand a bit more because it's a little flat in comparison to the great tones in the hair and shirt. not too much, just a little so that you can get a nice clear definition, especially in the mouth and finger areas. maybe you could bring in some more of the darks that you used in her neck to really tie it all in together nicely.

Thanks so much for the critique, Lisa - and I totally agree with you regarding the highlighting. This may seem almost spooky but I have been working on that very thing today and hope to upload a new picture of this in the next day or two. So far it's looking much much better
