Commission for mutednight of her character Renoir. Sorry it took forever to finish I think this is actually my best yet
I'm actually really impressed with how well it turned out! Critique would be appreciated

This is a lovely manipulation and by far the best of your artwork so far you have made huge improvements from your last manip, though it is lovely too.
So I would like to start with the overall vision of the manipulation which looking at just the horse is very good. So with the horse you have done lovely body prep and it looks very good. The eye is also beautiful which is a detail I love and should always be done to it's best and you have done that! The colour change and makings are good too along with the realistic body painting so overall really well done. The back egs need some better definition between them to make them more clear. Though manips are not just horses they are backgrounds too and while you have worked on good lighting and shadows in the correct places there are a few slip ups. The background has a lot of greeny/blue tones and the horse is not showing any of thes, always look at the background and the horse and make sure you give the horse a tone that matches the background so it looks more realistic. I would also dull the lighting of the rocks as they have a strong glare.
Originality - This is original with the markings and how well you've done it but loads of people do a horse in water I like how you have changed it by adding some bone like structures to the horses back and some unique markings but remember the background too would be lovely with something unique. Overall well done.
Technique - I love yours, from the way you prep the horse to the mane and tail all the way to the splashes at it's hoofs and the eyes. I think it's lovely and I could learn from your technique.

Originally the rocks were very bright and I had tried to fix them earlier but I couldn't seem to tone them done without it looking funky. I see what you mean about the back legs and I agree that they need to have some work done. I will work on the tones to help match the background when I get back from school. My main focus was to make the horse match the lighting not the rest of the background first but then I forgot to go back and try and match everything else Ooops..

lol well it looked pretty good for awhile but then once I was starting to work with the lighting I couldn't get it a bit darker without it looking weird..
Well whenever I have time to get on my laptop I'm gonna fix it
