If you were a fan you would have paid attention.
First of all - he came straight from the fight against Unohana in which he more than once "died" to have the chains broken [the chains he leashed himself with - so no gaining of powers he never had. He already had them]. There was no resting phase. No keep calm and lay low. Nothing. Yachiru was in shit and he went from one [or more] epic fight to the place Yachiru was [and if you take even more shit into consideration - before he fought with Unohana Soi Fon came rushing into the captain hall - updating them that neither Byakuya nor Kenpachi would be able to fight ever again. So those divison zero guys safed Byakuya, always gotta safe the pretty boy after all, and left Zaraki behind who STILL, with his willpower, managed to get his ass up].
So, even before that fight he was already heavily wounded and still got his ass there.
And then he fought the Quincy who has been told to be the strongest ever. Jucha is ALMIGHTY, with the power to forsee [so he can move away from attacks, does not mean that his attacks kill you instantly]. That guy is not only strong but IMAGINATION himself. No you imagine what it would be like to fight against a guy who imagines shit. You can't hit, you can't escape, you can't do anything but counter whatever that crazy thinks off.
So at long last Kenpachi fought against a black hole which crushed every single bone in his body [and raptured quite a few things].
However he STILL wasn standing and he still beat that guy. And then a bunch of bitches come along, because they are only strong enough to fight somebody wounded [as you saw in the manga - as soon as somebody was on full health they were punched around] and while it is true that at long last - after ALL!!!!!! this happened, Zaraki fell he neither gave up nor anything of that kind. Ichigo just passed by and, as ever so often, safed the day.
Yes, Zaraki was already at full power in his childhood, fighting AND beating the strongest Shinigami [KENPACHI!!!!!] there was. Then he was left alone again and seeing as only fighting got him any kind of attention his brain worked against him and he locked away those powers. He made himself weak, and still beat and raped most of the Shinigami there were. Now, just controling Shikai AND!!!!!!!!!! after being so heavily wounded and already counted out of the game he fought against imagination, beat the strongest Quincy and only then things looked bad.
You guys are forgetting this:
+ He was never at his full health. Byakuya Kuchiki got the healing. Kenpachi got the raping AND lived through it just to go and fight again.
+ Jucha is the almighty. He can look in the future and that makes him strong.
+ The number of opponents had and how quickly the other Shinigami fell against BY FAR fewer Quincy.
Before you go and call yourself fans just to degrade him I suggest you take everything into consideration and then compare what other charas did.
The ONLY character who has fought more and grew stronger was Ichigo. And by now Ichigo is every species imaginable anyway so what does that still matter?
So not being bitchy, not trying to troll, nothing of that sort.
I really just want to remind you.... look at the whole picture, not just ONE fight he already entered heavily wounded, and then compare it to what the other Shinigami have done so far.
Cause if you take into consideration what they have done you will see that yes - Kenpachi still is the strongest Shinigami out there.

He is supposed to be a beast among beast, and he doesn't even has access to half the standard powers of his colleagues.
Then he finally gets some equal footing, and next thing he does is getting his ass kicked (by some underlings), what was the point of all this anyway, you got weaker my man! at this rate you better not get a bankai XD.

The way Unohana was talking I thought he'd end up fighting Yhwach, but at this point if he does he'll get beaten even worse then the first time.

Kubo ins't the best writer out there, but this stain on Kenpachi's life will stay with him forever, even if he goes and beats everyone, we will all remember that time a bunch of girls trashed him... he will have to destroy the world twice to get back in badass shape.

I like kenpachi too i just still feel like fanboys put him waaaaay higher up on the list then he should be.
He's not even close to the strongest shinigami, But the pic is funny.

Surprisingly i'd honestly have to disagree with you. As a child Zaraki was able to fight on par with Unohana, a strength that undoubtedly increased with age and experience while simultaneously being suppressed to a far "weaker" state yet still above average as far as Captains go.
The thing is however, when Zaraki's true powers were "awakened" he SHOULD have been one of the most powerful Shinigami, i'd argue that he would have been at least a PHYSICAL match for Yamamoto if not one in terms of abilities as well, but despite the hype he gets I was ultimately unimpressed with his new "strength"
So in a way I both agree and disagree with you, the way Kubo had written him up until his "awakening" it seemed as though he was going to end up being some kind of god in terms of power, but post awakening he didn't live up to the hype.
