A watercolor piece for Team Landlocked in the Ocean Wars Event!DarlingJess 's gorgeous Chime surrounded by some of the team's hoard of dubloons... copper dubloons, for they are the most aesthetic. I've been wanting to watercolor this pirate gal since Jess first posted her design! (Oh, and I'd be remiss if I didn't thank my team for their advice while I was making this, especially for @/doroling helping me color the coppers!)
Unedited Scan: Captain's Hoard Unedited (I have a mighty fear of doing pupils in watercolor in case they end up, like, pointing in different directions and I'm unable to fix them... other than that, not too much changed other than cleaning up a few places where the masking fluid didn't completely cover things)

Beautiful work! The lineart is clean and the pattern looks amazing with the soft changes between the shades of blue contrasting with the white. I also like how each individual coin is colored and highlighted.

OH MAN you did an awesome job on her piebald markings! I'm pretty brave about tackling convoluted markings in traditional media, but I'll admit: Chime's markings intimidate even me. Huh, that gives me an idea, though... I wonder if masking fluid works with markers? HMMM.
