Description
Following on from A hero falls?
Corrin had made for a tough opponent, yet Seiros had prevailed. It was clear that, even in a completely new world, the goddess still had the power to protect her loyal followers. Seiros was confident that her next foe would fall like the last. She stowed the tiny Corrin away and headed for the final round of the tournament.
When Seiros met her opponent, her confidence only grew. Rather than one blessed by the divine, or a hero who had brought peace to an entire continent, the woman she was met with was a simple swordswoman. A swordswoman without a sword, instead using shuriken. Losing to such a woman was impossible, so Seiros made the same bet she had with Corrin. The young, foolish woman was quick to accept, introducing herself as Lyn. Smirking as the two shook hands, Seiros looked forward to the moment when Lyn would be little before her feet, naught but a tiny pet who shall soon know the glory of the goddess.
Despite lacking the status of her previous opponent, this round of the tournament unfolded much the same as the last. Seiros and Lyn took the lead in turns, neither one gaining much ground for long. Towards the end of the time, for reasons known only to Askr, Lyn lost much of her clothing, shredded in the intense competition. Stilling the squirming Corrin within her robes, holding down her entire body with a single hand, Seiros smiled. She would soon no doubt be crowned victor.
However, an hour later the final result came in. Against all odds, it was Lyn who had triumphed this day.
"Hey, look at that! I won!" Lyn cheered, "no idea what the prize is, but winning feels good!"
"What is the meaning of this?!" Seiros seethed, her composure giving way to sheer rage, "how can I have possibly lost to this fool?!"
"Even without a sword, I can still win!" Lyn smiled, "now then, about that bet of ours..."
It was then that Seiros felt it. What could only have been the punishment she had inflicted upon Corrin. Yet this time, she was the target.
This has to be a mistake. Such an outcome is impossible. Then why? Why am I the one who is dwindling?!
Seiros could scarcely look at her growing surroundings. She knew that she was shrinking, as per the terms of their agreement. Terms she had neglected to explain to Lyn, who gasped in surprise as she witnessed the woman reduce in size.
"What's going on?" Lyn asked, "how are you doing that?"
As Seiros shrank, Corrin grew relatively larger, becoming too big to be contained within her robe. The little Corrin slipped out, landing on the ground close by. All the while Seiros continued to shrink, getting closer to matching her in size.
"Huh? Is that Corrin?" Lyn gasped.
"Yes Lyn, it's me!" the tiny woman squeaked, "Seiros shrunk me when I lost against her!"
"She shrunk you?" Lyn crouched down, to better see the miniature dragon, "but why?"
"I don't know! I think she was going to keep me like this, and take me back to her homeland! She was going to do the same to you!"
"She was, was she?" Lyn looked to the still shrinking Seiros.
This is the worst possible outcome. Seiros grunted as her plan was revealed. She didn't know what she could do, besides run. Yet she knew her attempt to flee was doomed from the start. Just as she had easily caught Corrin, Lyn captured the shrunken saint without difficulty. She let out a startled gasp as her still shrinking body was gripped around the hips. Lyn then started to lift her off the ground.
"Hey, don't leave me down here!" Corrin cried, jumping onto Lyn's wrist. She clung on tight as Lyn stood. By the time she was up, Seiros had stopped shrinking. But Lyn had adjusted her grip, not allowing her tiny body to slip out of her hold. Seiros remained defiant still, struggling against the huge hand that held her. She tried desperately to part the digits that constricted her, but all of her power could not cause them to move even slightly. The larger woman was simply too strong.
"I don't know what's going on, but I assume you're responsible for this?" Lyn asked the seething saint.
"Serves you right!" Corrin giggled, laughing as the woman who had once gripped her struggled in the hand of a giant.
"Damn you both!" Seiros snarled, "such an affront to one who serves the goddess shall not go unanswered!"
"Hey! Mind your manners. Now, you had better apologise to me and Corrin," Lyn told her, pointing at the tiny woman for emphasis, "or else I might keep you like this..."
