Description Beloved, your voice I heard beneath the soil,
Calling across the forests of the North,
From deepest slumber rousing me with toil,
Urging me to rise and venture forth.
                                 *
Through the crust of ice immerging,
As from the womb, I cried and wept,
For as I rose with spirits surging,
I realized you left while I still slept.
                                *
How will I find you now, min älskling?
Where will I seek the flowing golden strands that crown your head?
I'll go to find the place where swords are clinking;
where spears and axes sing and oaths of war are said.
                                *
And there I'll see you stand, so tall and mighty,
And you will see me stand so fair and true,
Then go to you I will as if I'm blinded,
For blind I am and dumb, but so are you.
                               *
You'll touch my face to see I am no vision,
And whisper words I will not understand,
And I will cry for come the end of season,
I'll go and leave this blessed land.
                               *
But I'll return when summer reigns the meadows,
And I will seek and find you were we stood,
And 'till the end of time no death or shadows,
No pain or fear will come, no solitude.
                                 *
And years will pass and fly around us,
The lands will change while we will not.
People will live and die before us,
They may decay, but our love will never rot.
