I used high density foam to maintain the square shapes. I have a pattern for sale in my Etsy store that hows you step by step how to make one if you are interested

but isnt that non washable? i saw your kit and i saw that foam in it so i was curious to ask

You is NOT washable. But you can use a damp cloth with a bit of soap to surface clean it if necessary. It is mostly meant to be more of a collectors toy and not really a durable-tossing around toy since there is wire and other things not very cuddly friendly inside. I do include in the pattern a way to make it without wire so you can not have any hard bits inside, but the wire helps him stand up. It's always a good idea to take extra care with it when necessary.
