Description The Magic Kingdom's Liberty Square as seen from the bridge to Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.

If I remember correctly I was lazy with this shot - I laid the camera down on the handrail instead of getting out my tripod. All you need is a flat surface! And there are lots of flat surfaces at Disney.

The building with the clock tower is the Hall of Presidents. It wasn't open when we went, as it was getting its new-president rehab. It'll be open later this year with a new show and President Obama added to the animatronics.

This is an excellent vantage point for Wishes, by the way. I highly recommend it especially if you don't like crowds.

The moon is just out the shot - that's the glow at the top of the picture.

I used to work right there in the pavilion to the left of the HoP. I was a portrait artists during college. They aren't located there anymore - down the street in front of the Christmas shop but this is a great pic and brings back many wonderful memories of night time working. Thanks for posting.

That really looks magical. The blue lights contrasting the yellow foreground lights is just amazing. I just wish the Tinker Bell cable is not visible. It's a little distracting. But that's not your fault.

Oh wow I didn't even notice the cable. I guess I'm just so used to it being there I blank it out.

Thank you!

Thank you!

I think I like Frontierland the best. Happy memories there. And there's nothing quite like walking down the street at 3am after the park's been closed for a few hours and it's just you and the guy spraying down everything. The music plays all night long. Sigh...

I believe Disney meant the lights to look like ice.

I love the way the bright, icy blue spires emerge suddenly from the dark trees, the beautiful, calm golden scene beneath it...

It can be an odd sight to see the castle looming over Frontierland, but perhaps not quite as disarming as the view from Tomorrowland where fantasy and sci-fi clash head on.

I'll look at my pics. I think I have a few already posted on my stock site, that show the castle from the TTA ride.

Liberty Square is my least favorite land, but that spot has some sentimental value to it. It's where my Dad recorded the Main St. Electrical Parade in 1990 and for old times sake, I recorded Spectromagic at the same spot in 2009. It's a great parade watching spot

AreteEirene In reply to Dragonrider1227 [2010-01-12 07:41:02 +0000 UTC]

It is a good spot for Spectro , as long as you aren't too close to the bridge back to the hub (because then Chernabog won't open his wings ).

Dragonrider1227 In reply to AreteEirene [2010-01-12 19:35:34 +0000 UTC]

Yep. Only downside is that the 20 years between visits, a tree grew in an area where in '90 you had a great view of the castle as the parade went by. But can't have everything I guess

AreteEirene In reply to Dragonrider1227 [2010-01-14 12:52:04 +0000 UTC]

Oh the trees... they removed a bunch of the trees on the hub when Wishes first came out, because they blocked the view. It looked so weird to me that visit because all the trees were gone. Poor trees.
