Strengths:

+ More than anything what she is probably the best at is being able to judge rough distances and judging her actions based on these distances.

+ Her reactions to the ball being put to her are rather quick, and she can manage to set many of the balls sent to her. Of course she isn’t perfect at this and does frequently miss as anyone would.

Weaknesses:

+ Whilst figuring out her own moves however she can become a little disconnected from what is going on around her at times.

+ She also isn’t able to jump overly high, having not really worked as much on this as she has on other skills, not needing it quite as often as some other things.

Personality:

Stubborn- Being born in a wealthy family, Megumi was used to having a lot of things done for her, whether she wanted them to be done or not. Over time she has become a lot more determined to do things by herself, and dislikes when people try to help her out, willingly voicing her opinion on the matter.

Helpful- A bit hypocritical in contrast to disliking being helped by others, she likes being able to help others out if they ask. She will happily go out of her way to do as someone else asks, but will still put what she wants to do before some of the things others want.

Strategic- Megumi is the type of person to think things through before she does them, weighing her options, and trying to think of possible outcomes for what may happen. She applies this to her volleyball, using it in an attempt to help out the team by thinking back on past games, or on things that have happened during practise.

Cautious- Along with being strategic, she tends to not make overly rash decisions. If she knows that one thing will only end in disappointment, she will make an effort to avoid having to do that, instead trying to find an alternative which is safer in the long run.

Pacifist- One thing which Megumi is seriously opposed to is any kind of war, or violence. If she sees another two in a fight, she will make an attempt to break it up if it is possible without her getting herself hurt.

Repressed- Being born in the family she was born in, her parents both believed more in work rather than play. Through childhood, she didn’t get to do many things out with school that involved people other than her parents, and spent a lot of time studying and playing the piano, both of which were things organised and paid for by her parents.

Rebellious- Clashing with her cautious side, since becoming a high school student Megumi has forced herself to be more open-minded, and more willing to talk about her feelings to her parents. Often not doing what they wish and instead doing what she wants, she feels like sometimes she just has to do what she wants rather than what she’s been told to by others. This ‘rebellious’ side of her only usually surfaces at home. In school, she prefers to completely do as she’s told.

Motherly- When it comes to young kids, or just those younger than her in general, she takes it upon herself to act as their elder and will help them, or play with them if that’s what they want. Having two younger siblings, she likes playing with them and helping them with their schoolwork when they bring some home.

Independent- Having not had the opportunity to do much with her parents, Megumi picked up on basic things such as how to cook quite slowly. Being old enough to care for herself now, she often insists on cleaning by herself, and sometimes makes the family dinner if her parents are busy with work or business.

Biography:

Born in the same town she now lives in, Megumi lives with both of her parents, and two younger siblings. In childhood she kept pretty much to herself, the few friends she made never getting to go to her house, and her never really getting to go to theirs. Instead, her time at home was mostly occupied by tutors or her piano teacher, who came most days. When she wasn’t studying or practising what her parents set up for her, she would play with her siblings and keep out of her parents’ ways, trying to help them gain a little more freedom than she had. Her piano teacher was a kind woman who, on days when only the two of them were in the house, would often take Megumi out for ice cream as a break, knowing that she didn’t get to do such things with her parents often. Unfortunately once her parents found out about the breaks they changed her tutor, not wanting the breaks to be had.

At this point in her life, the young girl was willing to accept whatever she was told. Her parents both worked and were frequently home after dark, prompting them to hire a babysitter to look after the three kids (Megumi being 12 and both the younger siblings being 4). The woman who babysat them told Megumi about her work, and about her own school life which had been rather similar to her own. She prompted her to speak her mind rather than staying quiet, since if she stayed quiet, no one could really answer her questions, or tell her what she wanted to hear. Despite the advice she stayed quiet, hoping to be heard despite her silence.

Moving into high school was really the turning point for Megumi. Although it was a private all girls’ school and she was receiving a very good education there, her parents’ still insisted on the tutors almost daily, until she eventually spoke up for herself, telling her parents that she wanted more freedom and to join one of the extracurricular clubs that the school had to offer, in the hopes of being able to connect with the others in the club. Although sceptical, and despite her mothers’ protests, eventually Megumi’s father gave her permission to join the volleyball club, so long as she managed to keep her grades up, which she makes more of an effort to do now that she has a reason to.
